Is Your Waifu at the Top?
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using Waifu Leaderboard, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. These Terms of Service apply to all users of the site.
2. Crown Currency and Digital Goods
What are Crowns?
Crowns are a digital currency used within the Waifu Leaderboard platform for entertainment purposes only.
Important Notice
All Crown purchases, including purchases made for listing fees and description edit fees, are final. No refunds will be provided under any circumstances.
Crowns are non-refundable digital goods purchased for entertainment purposes only. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for real money or other compensation.
Anonymous Allocation Option
You can purchase and allocate Crowns anonymously without creating a platform account:
- No account creation required - simply complete your purchase and allocation
- Email is used only for payment receipts (Stripe) and is never linked to a platform account
- Anonymous transactions remain permanently separate from platform user accounts
- Logged-in users can also choose to allocate anonymously for specific transactions
3. Waifu Listings and Bootleg Process
Listing Fee
Users may list fictional characters by paying a $1 listing fee. This fee covers administrative costs and is non-refundable.
Bootleg Process
If a character listing receives an intellectual property complaint, Waifu Leaderboard may initiate a "Bootleg Process" where the community creates parody versions of the character.

DMCA Claim Received
Rights holders should submit infringement claims following the procedure outlined in Section 8: Copyright Infringement Claims. We accept notices through our designated Copyright Agent.
Upon receiving a valid claim, we initiate the Bootleg Process.
Under Review (Immediate Sanitization)
Upon receiving a valid claim, we sanitize the listing expeditiously, typically within 24-48 hours. All infringing content (including character names, images, and descriptions) is removed and replaced with generic placeholders. The listing is placed in "Under Review" status where the generic placeholders remain visible during the 72-hour review period.
Note: The 72-hour workshop period applies only to the creation of a replacement parody. The removal of infringing content happens immediately to comply with DMCA "expeditious" requirements.
Bootleg Workshop (72 Hours)
Community members can submit parody versions of the character. This 72-hour workshop period encourages creative, transformative content that complies with fair use principles.
Admin Selection
Platform administrators review all submissions and select the entry that best fits the platform's community spirit and creative standards. We do not make legal determinations regarding copyright or fair use; we simply select the submission that best preserves the listing's competitive integrity.
Bootleg Edition
The selected parody replaces the original character listing as the official "Bootleg Edition." The new parody version becomes the permanent listing, maintaining the character's ranking and allocated Crowns.
Note: This process replaces the infringing material with user-generated content. While the new version replaces the original listing in terms of ranking and competition, we reserve the right to remove or modify the listing at any time if intellectual property concerns persist.
3.5 Content Attribution and User Profiles
Public Display of Usernames
By uploading content (Waifu Listings) or submitting edits (Community Descriptions), you grant Waifu Leaderboard a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide license to display your User Display Name and Profile Link adjacent to the content to attribute authorship.
No Anonymity on Uploads
You understand that Waifu Listings are permanently attributed to the account that created them. You acknowledge that this attribution is public and visible to other users.
3.6 Community Description Editing
Edits as User-Generated Content
Waifu Leaderboard allows logged-in users to edit character descriptions. By submitting an edit, you represent that you have the right to use and distribute the content you submit, and that your use complies with our Content Guidelines. All edits are treated as User-Generated Content for which you are solely responsible.
Edit Fees and No Refunds
Editing a description requires a payment of Crowns. The fee increases incrementally with each subsequent edit to the specific listing. All fees paid for description edits are final and non-refundable.
If your edit is subsequently removed, modified, or reverted by Waifu Leaderboard for violating our Terms or Community Guidelines, you will not receive a refund of the Crowns spent to make that edit.
Moderation
Waifu Leaderboard reserves the absolute right to remove, edit, or revert any description edit at any time without notice for any reason, including but not limited to violations of our Content Guidelines or quality standards.
4. User Conduct
Content Guidelines: Waifu Leaderboard is designed as a safe-for-work platform. All uploaded characters and content should be appropriate for general audiences.
Prohibited Activities
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Waifu Leaderboard and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees and court costs) resulting from or arising out of a) your use of and access to the platform; b) your violation of any term of these Terms or any applicable law or regulation; or c) your violation of any third party's intellectual property rights.
5. Content Moderation and Removal
Our moderation team reviews content solely to enforce our Community Guidelines (e.g., prohibiting offensive material, harassment, or real-person listings). We do not monitor or judge user listings for intellectual property compliance.
Content Moderation Rights: Waifu Leaderboard reserves the right to moderate, modify, edit, or remove any user-generated content (including but not limited to character listings, allocation notes, comments, forum posts, direct messages, and images) that violates these Community Guidelines or applicable laws. This includes content that is offensive, inappropriate, harassing, or otherwise problematic.

6. Repeat Infringer Policy
Waifu Leaderboard respects the intellectual property of others and expects our users to do the same.
We reserve the right to terminate user accounts that receive multiple valid intellectual property complaints. If a user's content is the subject of a valid infringement notice on three (3) separate occasions, we reserve the right to terminate that user's account and forfeit any remaining Crowns or digital goods.
We will also terminate accounts in appropriate circumstances for users who we believe, in our sole discretion, are repeat infringers.

7. Intellectual Property
Waifu Leaderboard does not claim ownership of any characters, images, or content submitted by users. All intellectual property rights remain with their respective owners.
By submitting content, you represent that you have the right to use and distribute the content or that your use constitutes fair use or parody under applicable law.
8. Copyright Infringement Claims
Waifu Leaderboard LLC respects the intellectual property rights of others. Per the DMCA, we will respond expeditiously to claims of copyright infringement on the Site if submitted to our Copyright Agent as described below. Upon receipt of a notice alleging copyright infringement, We will take whatever action it deems appropriate within its sole discretion, including removal of the allegedly infringing materials and termination of access for repeat infringers of copyright-protected content.
If you believe that your intellectual property rights have been violated by us or by a third party who has uploaded materials to our website, please provide the following information to the designated Copyright Agent listed below:
- A description of the copyrighted work or other intellectual property that you claim has been infringed;
- A description of where the material that you claim is infringing is located on the Site;
- An address, telephone number, and email address where we can contact you and, if different, an email address where the alleged infringing party, if not we, can contact you;
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner or other intellectual property rights owner, by its agent, or by law;
- A statement by you under penalty of perjury that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright or intellectual property owner or are authorized to act on the owner's behalf;
- Your electronic or physical signature.
Waifu Leaderboard LLC may request additional information before removing any allegedly infringing material. In the event we remove the allegedly infringing materials, we will immediately notify the person responsible for posting such materials that we removed or disabled access to the materials. We may also provide the responsible person with your email address so that the person may respond to your allegations.

9. Privacy and Data Collection
We collect minimal personal information necessary to provide our services. We do not sell or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
10. Disclaimers
Gambling Disclaimer
Waifu Leaderboard is a competition platform for entertainment purposes. No real money prizes are awarded, and participation does not constitute gambling.
Platform Availability
We strive to keep the platform available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for any damages resulting from service interruptions.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, Crowns may be forfeited and access to the platform revoked.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable.
